EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL RESULTS OF RESTORATION OF FORMATION WATER OF HYDRGENIC DEPOSITS

This article presents the results of an experimental and theoretical study of the natural recovery ("self-healing") of formation waters after in-situ leaching (ISL) of uranium at the Irkol deposit. Using statistical analysis of long-term data, the authors found that the reduction in contaminant concentrations (sulfates, nitrates, salts, and uranium) over time is accurately described by exponential relationships. The proposed mathematical framework allows not only to predict the time it will take for aquifers to reach MAC levels (e.g., 12 years for nitrate ions) but also to quantitatively assess the reliability of this process using an integral criterion.
