This article presents the results of experimental studies on the influence of the degree of water saturation and mineral composition on the process of moisture evaporation from soils. Based on an analysis of model materials (sand, loam, and mixtures thereof) under isothermal conditions, patterns of changes in evaporation intensity over time have been established. The author identifies three stages of pore space dehydration and demonstrates that the evaporation rate is directly dependent on the initial moisture content and the soil’s particle size distribution. Mathematical interpretation of the data was performed using fourth- and fifth-degree polynomials, confirming a systematic decrease in evaporation intensity from sand to loam as the binding energy of water with the mineral surface increases.
