Abstract

This article examines the mining and geological characteristics and technological solutions for developing the Jerooy gold deposit. The authors substantiate the feasibility of a combined mining method: open-pit mining to a depth of 3,400 m followed by an underground stage. Particular attention is paid to the selection of a room-and-pillar mining system with 100% backfilling of mined-out spaces, which is dictated by the stability of the massif and the need to ensure mining safety. The parameters of the designed open pits and plans for preparing stopes using modern self-propelled equipment are presented.
