This article explores improving gold heap leaching technology using oxidized ores from the Akzhal deposit (Eastern Kazakhstan) as an example. The authors studied the effect of particle size distribution on metal content and ore absorption capacity. It was found that the -40 to +20 mm fraction is optimal for leaching, while smaller fractions require pelletizing to prevent siltation. An innovative hemispherical stack design with an internal piping network is proposed, ensuring the heat retention of exothermic reactions and uniform distribution of reagents. Implementation of this technology allows for an increase in gold recovery to 81% while significantly reducing capital and operating costs.
