DEVELOPMENT OF LANDSLIDE PROCESSES ON SLOPES WITH UNDERGROUND MINING

This paper examines patterns of landslide activation in Kyrgyzstan's mining areas, which emerge decades after underground mining operations ceased. Using the Kok-Yangak coal deposit and the Mailuu-Suu and Shekaftar uranium mines as examples, the authors demonstrate that key factors in landslide formation include rock softening due to undermining and changes in hydrogeological conditions in the zones of ground movement. The article substantiates the need for long-term geoecological monitoring of undermining slopes, even after the closure of mining operations, to prevent emergency situations in residential areas.
