Abstract

Using the Ishtamberdy tailings dam as an example, this paper substantiates a method for increasing the stability of dam buildup under magnitude 9 seismicity conditions. Using dynamic analysis in the FLAC program, it is demonstrated that liquefaction of the saturated base leads to critical deformations and limits the possibility of constructing tiers above the 2026.0 m mark.
