This article presents the results of a long-term experimental study (1.5 years) on stress redistribution in a solid optically active epoxy resin specimen. Using a polarization-optical method, the authors recorded significant dynamics: a multiple increase in tensile stress was observed along the vertical cross-section, while along the horizontal cross-section, the values of all stress components decreased by more than half. It was established that the relaxation process is non-uniform, including a reversal of the signs of the principal stresses near the end faces of the specimen.
