Abstract

This paper analyzes existing mathematical models of salt transport and accumulation in soils. The authors examine the physicochemical mechanisms of salt migration due to convective diffusion, groundwater evaporation, and dissolution processes. The article systematizes the fundamental differential equations (Darcy's equation, flow continuity equation, and salt balance equation) describing the dynamics of salt concentrations in water-saturated and unsaturated environments. Particular attention is paid to the interaction of vertical and horizontal moisture movement, as well as the impact of reclamation measures on the water-salt regime. The work emphasizes the importance of quantitative forecasting for combating secondary salinization and optimal management of irrigated lands.
