Abstract

This article is devoted to mathematical modeling of mountain slope stability under conditions of excessive moisture caused by precipitation. Using landslide processes in the Almaty region as an example, the authors examine the mechanism of soil transition from an elastic to a plastic state. The paper presents an algorithm for calculating the stress-strain state (SSS) of a massif using the finite element method (FEM). Particular attention is paid to the methodology for determining zones of plastic deformation using the Mohr-Coulomb limit equilibrium criterion. Dependencies are proposed for calculating the reduced physical and mechanical properties of water-saturated soil, which allows for the prediction of the formation of hazardous pre-landslide zones.
