Abstract

This article proposes a method for determining the specific energy intensity of crushing ores and minerals, based on an improvement of M.M. Protodyakonov's crushing method. The authors substantiate the use of an indicator that takes into account the ratio of the total impact energy to the volume of the resulting fine fraction, allowing for a more accurate assessment of the crushing efficiency. Experiments have shown that preliminary heat treatment of polymineral ores reduces their energy intensity by 2–2.5 times due to the weakening of intergranular bonds.
