SOME RESULTS OF ANALYSIS OF SEASONAL DEFORMATIONS OF THE LEFT-BANK SLOPE IN THE AREA OF THE TOKTOGUL HYDROELECTRIC PLANT

The article analyzes the results of monitoring the potentially hazardous rock block 46-R-7, located directly above the turbine hall of the Toktogul Hydroelectric Power Station. Based on 22 years of data (1970–1991), the authors identify the seasonal component of deformations using the "average season" method. The study demonstrates that seasonal fluctuations in the rock mass are primarily temperature-related and can serve as a benchmark for short-term forecasting: any significant deviation of actual data from the "average season" signals the onset of dangerous irreversible displacements.
