Abstract

This article examines the application of random search algorithms to solving problems in the optimal design of building structures. The author substantiates the effectiveness of introducing random elements into extremum search algorithms for nonlinear, nonconvex, and difficult-to-compute objective functions, where traditional "regular" methods (such as dynamic programming) prove excessively complex or ineffective.
