This article examines the theoretical foundations of the complex interactions between abiotic soil factors that directly determine the productivity of agroecosystems. The authors substantiate the need to develop unified, interconnected physical and mathematical models describing the combined processes of heat and moisture transfer and the convective diffusion of salts (pollutants) in multiphase capillary-porous media. Particular attention is paid to the negative impact of secondary salinization under traditional furrow irrigation and ways to optimize reclamation regimes.
