Abstract

This article examines the nonstationary problem of convective-diffusion salt transfer during flushing of highly heterogeneous porous media (loams, clays, and sandy loams). The authors analyze a two-zone pore structure model that divides the pore space into active flow channels (macropores) and dead-end stagnant zones (micropores). Numerical analysis is used to substantiate a criterion for the system's transition to an equilibrium exchange regime. For the case of long-term flushing, new analytical solutions to the one-dimensional convective diffusion equation in the form of plane waves and error integrals are proposed, suitable for practical reclamation calculations.
