Abstract

This article presents a scientific and theoretical overview of the application of scalar fields as a universal tool for modeling key processes in modern cosmology and astrophysics. The author analyzes in detail the role of scalar fields on various spatiotemporal scales: from the inflationary stage of the early Universe and quantum modeling of its birth to the description of the phenomena of dark energy and dark matter. Particular attention is paid to local astrophysical objects—scalar and chameleon stars, held together by the quantum uncertainty principle—as well as the possibility of forming spacetime tunnels (wormholes) through phantom scalar fields with negative kinetic energy.
