METHODS OF COLLECTIVE ASYMPTOTIC EXPANSIONS WITH APPLICATION TO COMPRESSIBLE FLUID FLOW IN PIPELINES
Keywords:

The article addresses the problem of hydrodynamic instability of compressible viscous fluids under high-pressure conditions and complex mountainous terrains. Special attention is given to the transition from laminar to turbulent flow in the boundary layer on concave surfaces of pipelines, where Görtler vortices arise due to the influence of centrifugal forces. The main equations describing fluid flow, including the Navier–Stokes equations, the continuity equation, and thermodynamic relations, are presented. Methods of asymptotic analysis and numerical modeling are employed to solve the problems. The stability conditions of the boundary layer are analyzed, and a boundary value problem for three-dimensional flow is formulated.
