Abstract

This article proposes a mathematical model of a periodically structured rod with distributed parameters, developed to simplify dynamic calculations for large numbers of attached concentrated masses. The authors derive a differential equation for the system's motion and obtain analytical relationships for determining two spectra of natural frequencies and longitudinal vibration modes. Using the example of a rod's longitudinal impact on a rigid barrier, they demonstrate a method for finding the parameters of a general solution from initial conditions and evaluate the convergence of wave series for calculating internal forces.
