Abstract

This article discusses a methodology for developing a finite-element computational model for studying the geomechanical and seismic stress state of the Northern Tien Shan lithospheric block in the Kapchagay-Issyk-Kul section. Based on the interpretation of modern high-resolution satellite images and satellite geodesy data, the authors detailed the spatial location of the main morphostructures, ridges, and deep seismogenic faults. A geometrically accurate mechanical-mathematical model of the vertical crustal section from Kapchagay to Khazhysay was developed, designed to simulate tectonic stress concentrations and predict earthquake focal migration.
