Abstract

This article explores ways to reduce industrial injuries and improve the efficiency of drilling and blasting operations when driving workings with portable equipment by optimizing blasthole cutting parameters. Using experimental and statistical data from the Yubileiny mine, a comparative analysis of the use of prismatic, pyramidal, sectional-prismatic, and sectional-pyramidal cuts for varying rock hardness is conducted. The author identifies rational applications for each cut type based on the criterion of ensuring a blasthole utilization factor (BUF) of 0.90–0.98, depending on the cross-sectional area of the working.
